“'Paula loves to paint' says my kindergarten report card. This remains as true today as it was then. I am fascinated by light, by the interplay of light and shadow, by the tactility of paint, by color. I love how the human face and the landscape are both constantly changing; I am challenged by showing how I see the world. I enjoy painting both the external likeness of a person or animal as well as connecting to and showing their soul on my canvas. When I paint the landscape I am preserving a vanishing treasure." Paula teaches private art lessons in portrait and landscape painting for any experience level, from beginner to enthusiast. Let her teach you in drawing, watercolor, or oil painting, from her studio in Cummington, Massachusetts. If you prefer, commission a family, pet, or individual portrait, or a rendition of a special landscape. Paula is a very talented hilltown artist who does beautiful work! She received a BFA degree from Tyler school of Art in Philadelphia with studies in Rome. In 1971 she graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with an MFA degree. She has been painting for forty years. Paula's special gift as an artist is in combining technical acuity with the capacity to capture the soul or essence of her subject, be it a person, a landscape, or a still life. Paula teaches workshops, classes and retreats in painting and drawing. Paula also teaches classes at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield MA. She is available for individual instruction in all aspects of painting, drawing and the creative process. Classes will be held in her studio in Cummington, MA beginning mid-September 2005.
